It took me so long to spot this y’know! And when I realised it (it was the episode where Chandler’s in a box) and I proper shouted out like “OH MY GOD! IT’S EMILY PRENTISS OFF CRIMINAL MINDS!” and my mam looked at me as if I was insane.
/end Criminal Minds fangirl moment.
Day 01. Favourite episode
Impossible to choose just one, so here’s a few…
1x08 Derailed. I’m not sure why, I just love Reid’s role in this. And I find this unsub so interesting.
1x14 Ride the Lightening. I seriously bawl at this every time I watch it. Even though I get what she’s doing - sacrificing herself so her son can have a better life - it really reinforces why, deep down, I don’t agree with the death penalty.
2x22 Legacy. In all honesty, I think this unsub is one of the most creepy in the entire show. All of that torture. It’s disgusting, but so intriguing. I really do feel sorry for the girl.
3x10 True Night. I’m not really sure why, this episode just seems to take on a different form to the others. And it’s a rare ocassion where you actually feel sorry for the murderer.
4x01 Mayhem. I can’t even explain why, but this is one of my most watched episodes of Criminal Minds. There’s lots of tension in it, and, well, mayhem! I love the end bit the most, though. When Morgan’s on the phone to Garcia in the ambulance. It makes me cry every time.
4x22 The Big Wheel. I just love the awkwardness of the unsub, and I love that he’s befriended the blind kid (even though he killed his mother). Actually, I just like that kid in general. Using echo location is really clever.
5x07 The Performer. I just like the line when Dante says something about his fans having “at best, a tenuous grip on reality”. It’s so true of a lot of fans of that kind of music, and always makes me giggle. It’s a good episode too, even though I thought it was kind of obvious who the unsub was from the get go.
7x01 It Takes a Village. An obvious favourite. Because I totally didn’t get the scene in France with Emily and JJ, it was a genuine shock when Emily came back! And yeah, it’s just a good episode. A lot of loose ends tied up.
I think, out of those, Ride the Lightening and It Takes a Village are the top two. They just stick out the most in my mind.
